ICTSS 2010 - HISTORY

ICTSS 2010 is the merge of the 22nd TestCom and 10th FATES. Thus, ICTSS is the 22nd event in a series of international workshops and conferences.

International Conference on Testing of Communicating Systems (TestCom)

Formerly TestCom was known as the International Workshop for Protocol Test Systems (IWPTS). Nine workshops took place:

  • IWPTS'88: Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • IWPTS'89: Berlin, Germany, Oct. 1989
  • IWPTS'90: McLean, Virginia, U.S.A., Oct. 1990
  • IWPTS'91: Leidschendam, Netherlands, Oct. 1991
  • IWPTS'92: Montreal, Canada, Sept. 1992
  • IWPTS'93: Pau, France, Sept. 1993
  • IWPTS'94: Tokyo, Japan, Nov. 1994
  • IWPTS'95: Evry, France, Sept.1995
  • IWPTS'96: Darmstadt, Germany, Sept. 1996

In 1997 it became the International Workshop on Testing of Communicating Systems (IWTCS). There were three workshops:

  • IWTCS'97: Cheju Island, Korea, Sept. 1997
  • IWTCS'98: Tomsk, Russia, Aug.-Sept. 1998
  • IWTCS'99: Budapest, Hungary, Sept. 1999

Since 2000 the conference is called the International Conference on Testing of Communicating Systems (TESTCOM). The conference locations have been as follows:

Formal Approaches to Testing of Software (FATES)

Before joining TESTCOM in 2007, FATES had been held six times:

  • The 1st FATES was held in affiliation with CONCUR 2001 in Aalborg, Denmark (http://fmt.cs.utwente.nl/conferences/fates)
  • The 2nd FATES in affiliation with CONCUR 2002 in Brno, Czech Republic
  • In 2003, FATES was held in affiliation with ASE in Montreal, Canada
  • In 2004 again with ASE in Linz, Austria
  • In 2005 in conjunction with CAV 2005, Edinburgh, Scotland
  • In 2006 again with CAV and together with the Workshop on Runtime Verification as FATES/RV
